Driver Power Failure BSoD

Hi guys,

I've been having this problem for a while where I frequently Blue-Screen if I put my computer to sleep mode.

Can you help me out? Here is the crash minidump file from last night:

Thanks everyone!

EDIT:

Using BlueScreenView to explore the minidump, I discovered that these were the main problems that popped up most often:

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.
This "could" be a power supply problem though it is not the most common cause.
9f is likely a driver issue. Antivirus/antispware/security programs can also cause these issues.
Have you added devices lately or updated drivers - be sure to check in Windows Updates to see
if a driver was updated prior to this occurring.
This could also be caused by a loose card or cable
and even a weak power supply.

That error means a driver is not handling the power state properly.
Check in Control Panel - Device
Manager to be sure major drivers are not shut off during sleep - double click Display Adapter - NIC
and WIFI - Sound and others - Power Management tab - uncheck Allow computer to turn off power.
Maybe only one has an issue.

Start - type in Search box - MSCONFIG  find at top - Right Click - RUN AS ADMIN

General Tab - check Diagnostic Start  - APPLY / OK  -  REBOOT

Try it now.
If it still blue screens think Video Driver.
If not think NIC, Wifi, Sound, or......
(and it still could be video interacting with something else).
See troubleshooter link
above for my generic driver update methods.

Manually editing the Windows registry

Manually editing the Windows registry to remove invalid MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION keys is not recommended unless you are PC service professional. Incorrectly editing your registry can stop your PC from functioning and create irreversible damage to your operating system. In fact, one misplaced comma can prevent your PC from booting entirely!

Caution: Unless you an advanced PC user, we DO NOT recommend editing the Windows registry manually. Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall Windows. We do not guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

To manually repair your Windows registry, first you need to create a backup by exporting a portion of the registry related to MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION (eg. Windows Operating System):

  • Click the Start button.
  • Type "command" in the search box... DO NOT hit ENTER yet!
  • While holding CTRL-Shift on your keyboard, hit ENTER.
  • You will be prompted with a permission dialog box.
  • Click Yes.
  • A black box will open with a blinking cursor.
  • Type "regedit" and hit ENTER.
  • In the Registry Editor, select the Error 0x9C-related key (eg. Windows Operating System) you want to back up.
  • From the File menu, choose Export.
  • In the Save In list, select the folder where you want to save the Windows Operating System backup key.
  • In the File Name box, type a name for your backup file, such as "Windows Operating System Backup".
  • In the Export Range box, be sure that "Selected branch" is selected.
  • Click Save.
  • The file is then saved with a .reg file extension.
  • You now have a backup of your MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION-related registry entry.

I have a worksheet that I want to be able to send out to various people.
I would prefer not to disclose the formula's.
I seem to recall having read something about converting an excel file to an exe file that renders it useable but protects formulas etc.

Compatibility with Win 7

I am trying to run a Family History programme (FTREE 2) in Windows 7, but I am told that as it is a 16 bit programme and Windows 7 is 64 bit it is incompatible.
How do I fix this? The programme ran ok in all Windows up to XP, and I cannot get the compatibility
utility to fix it.

Solutions to the Problem Can't install Xbox Video from Windows Store

Download SmartPCFixer for Free Now

Hi,

1.
Did you perform System Restore to fix any specific issue?
2.
Are you facing issues only when you try to install the Xbox Video app?
3.
Do you have any third party security software installed on the computer?

This issue may occur due to any recent changes on the computer and app is not getting downloaded properly.
Since you have already tried to reset Windows Store, let’s try the following steps and check.
Method 1:
Step 1:
You may refer to run the Apps troubleshooter
and check.
Step 2:
You may also try to install all the available updates including the optional driver/firmware updates and check.
For further information, refer to the articles:
Windows Update: Frequently Asked Questions

Method 2:
If you have setup any proxy settings on the computer, I would suggest you to disable the proxy settings and check if it helps.
You may follow the steps to do so:
a) Open Internet Explorer on the desktop.
b) Click on Tools icon option on the top right corner.
c) Select Internet Options from the list.
d) Click on Connection tab.
e) Click on LAN Settings.
f) Uncheck the box which says “Use a Proxy Server for your LAN".
g) Click on OK.

For further information, refer to the article:
Why can't I find or install an app from the Windows Store?

Method 3:
If you have installed any third party security software, you may try to temporarily disable the third party security software and firewalls installed on the system and check.
Note: Make sure to enable the security software on the computer after checking for the issue.
Hope the information helps.
Let us know if you need further assistance with Windows related issues.
We will be happy to help.

Boot in Safe Mode:
